Bachelor in Computer Science
This degree is oriented towards educating future professionals about the fundamentals of Information and Communications Technologies, which businesses are increasingly demanding due to the enormous changes that they are experiencing. The “Digital World” is not only a priority for companies developing their business in that particular sector, but it is also a priority for companies that realize they need to intensify their “digital transformation” or else they will stop being competitive in the marketplace.
The approach to this degree allows students to learn on the one hand many of the technologies currently employed in business, and on the other hand—without losing the vocational experience of the degree— the theoretical background necessary in any profession to face the challenges that the world of business will require of tomorrow’s professionals.
Our graduates have a wide variety of opportunities to enter fields ranging from Systems Administration and Communications to the world of Application and Systems Development. A few examples of the possibilities include:
- The creation and maintenance of a business’ information systems.
- Regulation of communications and data transfers.
- Configuration and maintenance of Communications Networks.
- Design, research, and development of new systems.
- Managing and directing e-commerce projects.
Official British Degree
At CESTE we follow the British educational model, in accordance with QAA standards (The UK Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education) and supervised by the University of Gales (University of Wales). This model guides both the design and renovation of our modules and classes, as well as our educational innovation, always seeking new means and methods of teaching more effectively.
In accordance with the British educational model, our methodology is:
- Dynamic and constantly revised.
- Innovative, applying the latest educational trends such as management simulations, design thinking, or role playing.
- Practical in order for our students to develop their own understanding, procedures, and work styles.
- Personalized, centred around small groups and attentive to the abilities and uniqueness of each student.
- An authentic personal experience that encourages students to develop their greatest potential.
- Modern, making use of the latest methodological trends () and current technologies and their possibilities (each student receives a laptop and the beginning of their degree program as a work tool).
One of our distinguishing features is the possibility of taking bilingual classes, entirely in English for a wide range of classes. Also, students are encouraged to present their work and projects in English, something which is absolutely necessary nowadays.
The programme requires one to learn English with a high level of proficiency in order to acquire a degree. The goal is that the student finishes their undergraduate with a C1 level of English.
For international students it is necessary to have a minimum of a B1 level of Spanish to enrol in their first course. In the event that you do not already have that level of Spanish, the university offers the possibility of enrolling in an intensive Spanish language course to obtain the required certification. Once completed the student will be prepared to pass a C1 level exam from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The European Diploma supplement can be added to the degree. It is a document added to the degree that certifies the student’s training in order to be understood in comparison to the degrees of any other member state of the European Union, in accordance with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
CESTE, Allied with the university of Wales.
In 1994 CESTE wanted to give its university programmes an official and international significance. As a result, an agreement was signed with the University of Wales. From then on, students graduated with 2 degrees: one awarded by CESTE and another awarded by the University of Wales in the United Kingdom; the latter of which is an official British degree recognized in all European countries.
CESTE, A university centre accredited by the government of Aragón
CESTE is a University centre that is accredited by the Government of Aragón to teach classes conducive to the acquisition of a degree in Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business Administration, in accordance with Decree 19/2000 of January 18th by the Government of Aragón (under the protection of Royal Decree 557/1991 of April 12th about the Creation of Universities and University Centres). CESTE is currently the only centre authorized by the government of Aragón where you can concurrently study this degree in order to start the transfer of the degree’s equivalency to the degree from the University of Wales.
I studied a Computer Sciences degree at CESTE primarily because I was looking for a quality education, both personalized and practical, that was taught by business professionals and could help me understand what would be truly applicable later in the working world. I understood at that moment that CESTE was the only place that could teach me in that way, and of course I wasn’t wrong.
I combined my studies during my undergraduate with internships, which were always related to what we were learning in class at that moment. Once I finished my Bachelor in Computer Science, I didn’t hesitate for a moment in also completing my MBA at CESTE. That Masters opened up the doors to me working in banking, once again thanks to the management of CESTE investing in professional professors who are well recognized in the field they teach.
Currently I work as a technology consultant at ‘ACTIO Procesos y Tecnología’, a company manage by Javier Retornano (also an alumnus of CESTE), further proof that the school’s teaching style is the right one to put students on the path towards a professional career in their chosen studies.
That said, I recommend CESTE both for their undergraduate, Master’s, and Higher Education programmes (as a former student), as well as for the solutions they give me (as an employer) when I need to bring more people into my business.
